This hand-made relic (pun intended) would bestow the holder with powers only a thief would love: You can unlock any door and freeze your victims in place. For 200 years in Europe, Hands Of Glory were a much sought after item for the criminal class. So home owners had to come up with their own spells to fight back . . .
